Piles of food, laundry and clutter

I almost wish I was heading into work today so I could bring all these leftover goodies to the starving college students. We have brownies, lemon bars, cupcakes, and tons of candy I will have to try and avoid now that Easter is over. Next time I host a party and people ask if they can bring something, I'll say, yes, bring veggies and fruit!

We had a great time visiting with family including my parents, but as always, I didn't take enough photos. I just get too busy and when everything is over, I realize I've forgotten. I think I need to give it up and delegate that responsibility to someone else.

Today we need to get things back in order in our nest. Our dryer stopped working just before the weekend started, and I now have a laundry mountain. It seems like we just had that bugger fixed! I'll haul off baskets of wet clothes to dry at the laundry mat, and I hope my dryer can be fixed soon. Its going to rain the next couple of days or I would have tried a clothesline.

I've got "piles" to go through too. Its not the best way to tidy up before company visits, but sometimes its just easier to quickly grab all that stuff and pile it out of sight. I'm now opening up the closed doors and realizing we need to clear out those piles. How does all of this pile up so easily?

I hate laundry. I have to do about 2 loads a day with all these kids here. lol. I don't know what I would do without a washer/dryer ... geeze they are a life saver ! I want to give the person who invented them a hug, I can't imagine having to go beat my clothes on a rock or something like they used to long ago ! Yikes !

Good to hear that you had a nice weekend !!! :O) I'll take some of those goodies !

I guess in bigger occasions like Christmas or Easter there would never been such an amount of food (and clutter) that you could deal with at once, lol! Now, that's a true impossibility!

Glad you had a great Easter! I need to tackle laundry, now too. Usually do it on Sunday. Ugh!

I couldn't live without our washer and dryer. Our dryer is about 3yrs old and we bought it used and our washer was given to us because the woman bought a house and it was in the basement and they didn't want to haul it away. Well it works great and would you believe this Maytag was built 1976, there is a tag on it. But I think within the next year it will be time to look for a newer set

Glad you had a nice Easter with your family. Sorry your dryer broke again. Hope it's a quick fix.

That's what I hate about having folks over too. They don't take food back home with them!!! :-)

It's nice that you had time to visit with your family on Easter. Sean said the roast turned out really good. If you have room in your freezer, think about freezing the cupcakes and other baked goods. I've done it before and they freeze pretty well. I've got half a pineapple, upside-down cake in the freezer. Can you bring the candy to work with you or Sean? That's what I always did to get rid of any unwanted sweets. The temptation is just too great to keep that stuff in the house. Hope the dryer isn't sick for too long and is an easy fix for you.

Gosh, I wish we lived closer...my DH is a whiz at fixing dryers. My mom calls him whenever hers does something funny. lol

His dad used to say there's nothing on a dryer that can't be fixed, and he backed up his words by keeping their dryer going for over 30 years....funny story, DH's mom and dad were shopping for a new washer and dryer when her water broke, and she just barely made it into the hospital before DH was born. So their set was the same age as he was. ; )

Paige- I do wish we lived closer, but just because I'd love to hang with your unschooling family and share in your outdoor fun. I couldn't see our dryer in a landfill so we chose to pay for it to be fixed. Its been educational too, because I have the repairman show us the damaged parts.

Linda- Don't worry, the sweets are going to work with me and I may just bring the colored eggs as well. I have almost two dozen and I can't see us eating that many hard boiled eggs. The leftover pork has been consumed for lunches and suppers.
