Its a safe bet we won't be playing basketball today. At least the sun is trying to come out. The death cold has moved in for the next few days. This is when I must reach down and remember my Scandinavian roots. I will survive! With my multiple layers, warm hot fluids, and running the van's engine every few hours, I will make it.
Getting to work may not be fun with the blowing and drifting snow, but once I'm there, its warm and cozy thanks to our 88 degree water temperature. There are many families though that elect to not come to swim lessons because its so cold outside.
Another problem I have with this weather is the fact it makes me want to eat. Its so tempting to keep the oven baking up goodies, because it keeps the kitchen warm. I swear I do feel more hungry than usual. Is it because my body's furnace needs the fuel? Doesn't it realize we have fuel reserves in abundance?!! LOL!
Bananagram is keeping us busy. This game is sort of like Scrabble only without the board. For the most part, DS just enjoys spelling out words on the carpet, on the kitchen counter, on the table, on the couch, anywhere but a sheet of paper! That's how unschooling works. If I would give him a piece of paper and ask him to spell words, he'd be bored. The carpet surface, spelling while on your belly is so much more fun!
I have to keep this short. DS9(soon to be10!) just read my blog post over my shoulder and now he's asking to play Scrabble.

Scrabble is good when it's cold and blowing outside (or just any time!). Gosh, that snow doesn't even look pretty to me anymore! I want nothing to do with now! We're down into the 50s for the next few days, and that has me bundled up! LOL Have fun with your spelling games!!
I totally understand the desire to eat when it's cold............all those comfort foods!
I hope the cold won't do any damage there. A couple of winters ago we had a period of about a month in January when it was under -25'F every day and it broke the electricity in many places and caused a lot of other damage too. It's fun when it's between 15 and 5 *F but everything colder starts being too cold.
OH ! I have had it with the cold. I went insane on the hubbs the other night and told him it was time to go. We moved up here near 4 years ago now and it is all I can take !
What do you do for work again .. do I hear swimming ??? OOOOOOH, ahhhhh - swimming is my kinda thing. I hear ya'on eating alot more too, mayhaps that is whycuz I have gotten so fat ! LOL !
That game sounds fun and I should try it out sometime.

Understand the cold, I would choose snow over these extreme temps anyday.
