Anderson Gardens

Anderson Gardens is one of my favorite places on earth. It is an incredibly beautiful Japanese garden in Rockford, Illinois. It was once owned privately by the Anderson family and now its open to the public. If I lived in Rockford, I'd have a yearly pass and spend a little of every day there.

The garden features several ponds and multiple water fountains. There are too many Koi to count and its funny how they swim so close to the surface, following you around looking for food pellets.

Stone paths lead you through the peaceful garden, passing multiple water fountains. The Japanese style tea house and guest house are authentic, and the highlight of the garden is the man made waterfall.

If you ever visit Rockford, the Anderson Gardens is a must stop.

Beautiful! Thanks for sharing this. I wish my family would have been more active in taking advantage of places like these when we lived in Illinois.
