I did think the chipmunks trying to help Dave seduce the ex-girlfriend was a bit much. "She wants you Dave!" Why is this appropriate for a kid's movie? It was rated PG but still, this was not necessary for the plot. My boys are older, but I wouldn't want to explain this to a 5 year old.

We saw the movie and did laugh at some parts and enjoyed them singing. It was too drawn out for the film and the storyline just didn't seem to work for me. I expected it to be completely light and fun although they did fit a message in with why kids (chipmunks) shouldn't get everything they want when they want it and that parents are looking out for the best interest of the children.
Alex was focused on the cuteness of the chipmunks and their songs.
Often times, little phrases are stuck into kids cartoons and I wonder why they do that. Kids don't 'get' those comments yet while the parents do.
I gave it two stars because we did have some laughs and enjoyed the singing. Too much story for the film tho.
I keep debating about renting this one...
If you don't, it won't be like you've missed something incredible. :)
