Its difficult not owning a snow thrower. My arms ache and DH is ready to drop. He not only worked on our driveway but also our neighbor's across the street.
Our neighbors are a very nice, older couple who's children all live far away. Mr. Neighbor needs back surgery soon too. I wish I had a few grand to buy DH a snow thrower. He's the type of guy who would snow throw everyone's driveway on the block if he had one.
The boys played in the snow, until the ice rain soaked through. I now have a huge pile of wet boots, snow pants and jackets, most of which belong to the posse rats. I asked DS12 why they always end up in our basement boy cave. Why am I the only parent who allows children in their home? I'm glad I know where my children are, but I'm not kidding, these kids spend more time in my home than theirs.
Tonight I will get my chance to get away. I'm going to a private shopping event at a bookstore! I'm so excited!!!!! I hope to make a good dent in my Christmas shopping but even if I don't, I will have had time without kids, in a bookstore!!!!!!
Time for tea and a cat nap.

We're shovelers here too...not looking forward to that! Thankfully, we've only gotten light dustings so far.
The bookstore shopping event sounds neat! have fun.
We shovel here too. Luckily we only usually get snow a few times. A bookstore without kids sounds really nice. Hope you had a good time. :)
We did the same thing yesterday (digging out). Every year we say that we should get a snowblower, but we never do.
My favourite place to get away is also a bookstore! We don't get much snow here as a rule, so when we lived in Sweden and had several feet of snow from the end of September through to the end of April, we really enjoyed it (for the first month or so ;-) we were the only ones out playing in it. I suspect all the sensible Swedes were sitting behind their triple-glazed windows watching us and thinking "they must be English"!
