Those who know Posse Rat history will remember the big chair incident. I had this overstuffed, oversized chair. They tore off the back cushion and pulled out the stuffing. I banished them back then but eventually forgave them and gave them a second chance. I'm not too quick to forgive this time.
The basement (boycave) wall has this strange textured finish. I don't know if I can still purchase this stuff to repair it. The family who lived here before finished the basement. I may have to just spackle and paint over it. - I mean the boys may have to spackle and paint over it.
The thing is, I know it wasn't my boys who did this. I let in the rats at 10:30. By the time the pizza was ready, DS12 decided he wanted to rest. His head hurt. He ended up on the couch the rest of the afternoon and evening. He ran a low fever but I think this was due to the shots he received on Monday.
I let the rats stay downstairs because I figured they'd just go home to empty houses waiting for their working parents to come home. By 3:30 though I was burnt out. I asked them to clean up and when I saw the only person cleaning was DS8, I hit my breaking point.
Today we will switch worlds and play with our homeschooled friends. We have a Christmas party this afternoon where we plan on playing board games and making cards and crafts for the nursing home. It should make for a better afternoon today than yesterday.

Oh man, I'd be quite upset too. I hope someone can get it cleaned up or painted over. I hope DS12 feels better soon
That's horrible! Hope you can get your wall fixed.
It is horrible that they would take advantage like that! I think it is just human nature in one respect to take advantage if they think they can get away with it, but I would be furious if I found out my kids had behaved so badly at someone else's house, and I hope they wouldn't, just because they know not to. It makes one wonder about what they're being taught at home; presumably not enough! And I recognise the feeling that you want to be hospitable because they're left alone, but I think you don't need to feel any responsibility for them if they abuse you! Btw, my homeschooled DS12 is tickled to note that you also have a homeschooled DS12!!
Try a Mr Clean scrubber, (don't know the right name - they are white, look like a sponge) anyway they take almost anything off. It may be more difficult on a textured wall but sure worth a try. I have gotten marks off of things that l could not remove with anything before. Those kids would be banned from my house.
