Sitting by the window I thought I heard a low growl. I turned my head thinking someone's dog was in our yard, and to my surprise there was a hummingbird staring me and my red shirt down. I was nervous she was going to hit the glass, but she decided not to go for my red shirt and turned to check out my inpatients hanging in the basket on the porch. She was the first hummer I've seen this year. I had given up thinking they were coming back.
