"This week I bet you can name Five things that have happened recently either in the news or in your lives that stand out for you in some way...they touch your heart, make you want to throw a fist in the air and go "YES", or maybe just leave you feeling thoughtful."
1. A job offer for DH after 8 plus months of unemployment! Its only a limited term contract position, but still, it will help us catch up and give him something to do while we continue to look for something permanent. Who knows, maybe this company will even decide to hire him after the contract expires. We're going to miss having him around the Sleepyhouse, but with nearing the end of unemployment benefits, this is a huge blessing to us right now.
2. New work projects for me! After attending a "webinar", I've learned a bit more about our scheduling software. I'm looking forward to using my new knowledge to improve our scheduling management system at the pool I work at.
3. After living in our Sleepyhouse for almost 9 years, we have finally cleaned out our gutters thanks to DMIL and her awesome ladder and hose attachment. 6 tennis balls, a football and a few shuttlecocks- its a safe bet our gutters will now work much better after clearing all that out! But how will I collect rainwater for our containers now? Hmmm..maybe we'll be able to afford the materials to make a real rain barrel?
4. I can walk 3 miles in a workout! Since I began Dailymile a few weeks ago, my goal was to be able to walk 3 miles a day. I've been able to walk 3 miles and soon I'm hoping I can manage that distance on a daily basis. I feel so much better when I have the opportunity to walk off the stress.
5. The first harvest from the square foot garden is ready! I'm planning on picking the baby spinach and other early lettuce, adding some strawberries and having a fabulous salad!

Wanted to say that I will start praying for your husband and employment...my husband used to work for Delta Airlines and lost his job due to the 911 incident....Took us over a year to find suitable employment....still nothing compared to the wages he used to make....Praising God that we are provided for.....That is all that matters...
Oh Dawn!! Hallelujah!! Praise God for the job offer!! Yahoo!! Just told hubby and he said "that's cool" hehe.
I'm fixin to harvest some lettuce myself. Almost can't bear to pick it though. LOL
Great news about the contract job!! A job is a job, and getting a foot in the door is good news!! Your garden sounds wonderful. Thanks for catching us up!!
Good luck
Praise the Lord; I’m so happy that your husband received that job offer, congrats. Isn’t it nice when you clean the gutters, all the goodies you find lol. Happy to hear that you are continuing with your walks, it certainly is a great way to relief stress. I wish I could do more of it, certainly is a goal if the weather would co-operate with me.
sounds like some really great things are happening right now for you.
