Ants are invading. It must be midsummer. They come in every year around this time, strangely in the bathroom, although this year we also have a group who discovered Yumi's cat food bag in the pantry. I'm going to try storing her food in a canister now. I really don't want to nuke the yard, but their numbers are increasing. I'm trying borax sugar poison, hoping that will take care of the unwanted visitors. You place a few drops on a piece of paper. The ants drink it and bring the poison back to the nest.

I've heard people are having problems, but so far I have been lucky. Good luck!

When we lived in another town, they came to our home the same time every year. They'd stay for a little while, I'd throw out stuff, clean cabinets and they eventually leave.........not sure why they pick and choose like they do. :o)

We get ants really bad every year. This year I tried the borax/maple syrup. Seemed to attract more ants. I kept the baits out for 2 weeks. The ants never decreased. I threw the baits away + the ants were gone. Now we only get the occasional stray ant. So I guess it worked. Ants are a pain in the butt. Hope it works for you.

Wouldn't you know it? I went to the laundry room tonight and found ants in the floor picking up tidbits of cat food. grrrr....I hope once I finish washing the clothes and get the floor swept and mopped that they'll be gone...........grrrrrrrrrr

It does appear to be working. Its always scary at first because after you first put out the poison bait, they swarm around it, horror movie style. A few days into the battle though, we seem to be ant free.
