"Ooooooooh, scary! For Friday the Thirteenth, tell us about your five favorite scary movies. (Count a series as a single movie if you're going to play fair.) And don't forget to come back and post your link."
1. The Exorcist (the original with Linda Blair)- No contest. This movie terrified me to my core. I foolishly watched it at age 12, with my best friend Lisa, while the two of us were ALONE in her house. I did not sleep for 2 weeks thinking I was going to become possessed by the devil. Years later I found out my husband had a similar experience with this movie, seeing it at the same age, only he was COMPLETELY alone while his mom was out of town on business.
2. Pulse - The Japanese version. I had to hold my son's hand while we watched this late one night. Japanese horror films have that extra element of creepy that I haven't found in American horror.
3. Suspiria - The Dario Argento classic. The first 5 minutes are genius, and the rest of the movie never disappoints.
4. Let The Right One In - I feel the need to have a vampire movie on this list, and this one is truly one of the best vampire movies ever made.
5. I'm at #5 already?? So many good films still to choose from.....Since its so hot and humid outside, I'll go with Stanley Kubrick's, The Shining. I could use a run through a frozen hedge maze right about now.

I've never even heard of the 2nd, 3rd and 4th. The Shining was great, especially spooky to me because Jack looked so much like my own father, who was psychotic. And of course the Exorcist was scary, creepy, gross . . . nightmare-making stuff.
I've been to the hotel where the Shining was made! It's on Mount Hood in Oregon!
I saw Let the Right One in....I didn't really get it....I mean I didn't know if I was supposed to like the vampire girl or not. I was confused.
I haven't seen all of those... will have to look for them!
Not really into scarry movies but movie time in your house must be exciting
Great list! The Omen would have to be #1 on my list. #2 Jaws #3 Puppetmaster #4 The Fog #5 Godzilla
I love scary movies, even if I hide behind a pillow for some lol. All the ones you mentioned are great but your right, there are so many good ones.
I haven't heard of 2, 3, & 4 and I do love vampire movies. I'll check that one out!
LOL Loved what you said about The Shining! That would be totally cool! :-)

I really don't like scary movies. However I have seen The Exorcist and The Shinning a few times, and several other Steven King movies. I also have read a ot of his books. Ok, I guess I might be very selective on scary movies.
