I'm torn. I want to feed the humming birds, but I don't like the collection of wasps we now have. I can't easily grab the feeder to refill it without thinking I'll be stung. Humming bird watchers, I ask you, how do you manage this?

I would take it down at night... Wait a few days and move somewhere else.

Never had a hummingbird feeder so I'm not any help. Let us know your solution

I'd love to know the secret! We already have enough wasps to contend with because of our pool and garden! I would love to have a hummingbird feeder but that would give them more ammunition against me!!

I have never put a feeder out but Jenny's idea sounds good. Can't hurt to try it.

I have heard that moving the feeder is a good idea because insects aren't all that smart and may have a difficult time finding it. lol

Another thing I once heard was to keep a feeder with sweeter nectar in another spot in the yard. Not sure who is supposed to gravitate towards it, but it might be worth a shot.

I don't move my feeders. We probably get one or two wasps who hang around the feeders, but it's not 100% of the time. My hummers still get lots to drink, which reminds me that i need to make more nectar. :o)

I was going to take the feeder down completely, but this morning a young one visited, and now I feel its better to keep feeding him/her and deal with the wasps. I do think we'll move the feeder a little farther from the front door, but still close enough to the window so we can watch. I may also set a wasp trap. I do have some birthday cash. I may look at getting a fancier feeder with anti-wasp guards.
