You know you're an unschooling mom when you allow your child to go outside on a chilly Wisconsin morning just after 7:00am because he wants to rake leaves. He stayed out there enjoying himself until he noticed cars parking in front of our house. Our neighbors a few streets away were bringing their children to the bus stop. They keep their children warm and snug in their cars before the bus arrives. - And here I am allowing my child to rake leaves in the frosty air? I didn't make him! He wanted to do it! There's nothing wrong with getting a little early morning exercise and fresh air!

My kids will voluntarily pick up litter when we go for walks and put it in the bottom of the stroller... they often complain that people in our town have "no respect for the earth". I can almost hear the thoughts of people driving by, "those poor homeschooled kids will never learn anything unless they go to school...."...

Good for your son. He will be happier and healthier. My kids walked to the bus stop and waited. (l hope l didn't scar them)
Sounds like he had fun + that's all that matters. :)
