Gardner quote

Much education today is monumentally ineffective. All too often we are giving young people cut flowers when we should be teaching them to grow their own plants.

I like this one!! That's one of the reasons growing our own garden and canning and STUFF was an important tradition to "hand down" to my boys. I want them to understand to "sow, reap, harvest"...AND how they can benefit from their labors in the dead of winter. Great quote that applies to MANY other facets of education as well. Where it is NOT taught in public schools, parents need to take the time to educate.
