28 Days and counting!!!

"Smash" is home with us now after we cut "him" down Saturday. (DS8 named him.) We've been sprucing his branches ever since. Smash the Balsam fir is decorated in mostly handmade ornaments. They are near and dear to my heart because several of them were handcrafted by my Mormor- "Mother's mother" in Swedish.

She was called home just 2 days before my first child was born. Sharing the things she handmade, and baking the recipes she baked, is one way I can keep her memory alive and introduce my children to her.

DS8 loves this ornament. He calls it "Porcupine Superman." He gets porcupine and pinecone mixed up. I think my Mormor would tell you its suppose to be an owl. Anyway, DS8 has asked that we make more, including some bad guys. I'll have to plan a make your own superhero pinecone ornament craft soon!

Today we are ringing bells again. I hope I get the same good feeling I got last time. I've got Monday blues. I miss DH. Having him around for the past 4 days rocked! At least I'm not working tonight so I'll see him then. I think after we ring bells, we'll shop for his birthday gift. Maybe I can pick up a Christmas present or two as well.

Peace and blessings!!!

You named your tree? How fun!

We put ours up this past weekend too...except it's only a tiny little two foot or so tree - I'm not brave enough to try anything bigger with all the pets.

I've never knew anyone who named their tree. That's cute! Cool that you use handmade ornaments. My ds gets porcupine + pinecone mixed up too. I guess it's cause they both are kinda prickly. lol
Hope you have a great day!
