Chihiro, our mouse, has left us to join her sisters in heaven. She was the most gentle of her sisters, Cheddar and Chocolate, and she lived the longest. The good old girl held out for the ground to thaw. We thought we'd lose her months ago. We built her a bio-degradable coffin out of a Girl Scout cookie box. Her shroud was a paper towel, also bio-degradable. Our hope is that her body will nourish the earth and join with the tree. She would have liked that.

We have 3 very friendly rats that are in need of a new home..... hint hint......

She is an angel mouse now, may she rest in peace. I know she had a good life with your family and I hope your boys are doing ok after her passing
Sigh... Unfortunately, we have a mini-pet cemetery in out back yard that is full of beloved hamsters. Painted rocks mark where they lie. I have had my guinea pig for 4 years, but hamsters seem unable to live here. The longest one was 10 months. You have my condolences.
