I almost bought a Japanese Peace Lily today. They had them for $12.99 at the Piggly Wiggly, and there was a beautiful plant over 3 feet tall. I was very close to grabbing it, but then I wondered if they are poisonous to cats. Came home and Googled. Yup. No Peace Lily for us. Yumi most definitely would try to eat it. She's an indoor kitty, but she constantly tries to get outside and the second she does, she eats grass. I have grown kitty grass for her inside, but she eats it so quickly it never really flourishes.
Last night she tried to break through the window and attack the Tom cat visiting on the back deck. She completely freaked out, howling and clawing at the window. Goofball! I don't know what we'll do when its warm enough to open the window. She'll probably claw through the screen. DH thinks we can never bring another cat home or she'd rip it to shreds.
I discovered last night I need to create a book wish list and keep it in my organizer. I get this kind of amnesia when I enter a book store. I can't remember any of the books I want! I'm like a deer in the headlights. I had a 40% off coupon for Half Price Books, and I had 30 minutes. I caved and bought a Kingfisher ancient history book for our homeschooling stash. It is a cool book, covering each continent, but I probably could find something like this at the library. I'll have a chance to redeem myself on Sunday. I have another coupon for 50% off on that day.
We're heading out to homeschool gym class and then to hang out with homeschooled friends. It will be a nice break from the Posse Rat crew this week. Its been spring break in our town and the word is out we have Super Smash Brothers. This week has reminded me I need to make summer plans or my house will be over run.

lol Sounds like your cat is quite curious. LOL I have two indoor cats. Zoe ventures out on the patio when I let her. :) My cats aren't bad to eat any indoor plants. They prefer to eat curling ribbon.......lol I think I'd rather eat a plant if I were a cat. :)
Peace lilies are so pretty. Aren't they? I love plants. I don't have many right now (only 3). I do plan on getting some ferns for the patio and a couple more houseplants. I think it's a sign you're getting older when you start collecting plants........heheh
Sounds like you'll have a fun day with the homeschool kids. Our group gets together once per month. The larger group we are members of has stopped having outings for kids Alex's age since the coordinator stepped down a few months ago. Every now and then our local homeschoolers get together just for playdays, but it's not often that it happens.
Definitely make plans for the summer so you don't get overwhelmed with the Posse Rats. (the name just makes me chuckle)
My cats will devour and destroy kitty grass too when I grow it indoors. I usually keep it out of there reach and just clip off a few blades at a time for their enjoyment.

I've never tried growing kitty grass. Our cat is really old + probably wouldn't bother with it. Our cat is indoors only. We can leave the front door open + he won't venture near it. There are a lot of outdoor cats around us + he freaks out when he sees one through the window. We have to replace screens every year due to the cat. Hope you get yourself a good book with your coupon this weekend.
I have just used regular grass seeds and grown it for Pepper. It seems to come back pretty quick. I do usually grow several dixie cups full at a time so I can rotate.
I grew kitty grass once. They made a mess of it and I gave up. My plants now all reside on tall bookshelves out of kitty reach. You may need to find a way to let the air in, but strengthed the screens. Be sure she gets her feline leukemia and FIP vaccines since at least one of these can be airborne and can pass from cat to cat via contact such as through a window screen.
My parents have a very territorial cat too. They can't have another cat either. And, it was hell when I lived with them and one of my cats escaped into her domain. Talk about howling!
I am glad you were able to get together with your homeschooling group, gives you a break from the neighbor kids.

We had to replace the screen in the window facing the bird feeders last summer. ; ) Daddy is *really* hoping they don't go through the new one. lol
I'd like to go "booking", although I'm like you and can never remember what I'm after. : )
