Haven't been hanging around Multiply because I'm too busy hitting the refresh button at the Blind Melon forum site! There's a rumor Travis is back with the band!! I'm trying to not get my hopes up, but if this is true, its one terrific Christmas present! According to Travis' Myspace, he's going to perform with the band on New Years. He doesn't exactly say he's reunited for good.
The band's Myspace page says nothing. I won't believe its official until I read something directly from one of the remaining band members. Someone could have hacked into Travis' Myspace and this could be a hoax.
I really, really, really wish we could make the trip to Dearborn, MI on New Years to see the show, but its just a little too far of a drive, on a possible snowy night. Plus it would be the most expensive show yet, with tickets around $40 each. Plus we'd probably have to do the hotel stay rather than marathon driving.
The nail on the coffin is also the fact its on New Years Eve. It would feel bittersweet not being able to spend New Year's with the boys. Traditionally our family has always been together on New Year's Eve. I can't imagine beginning 2009 without them.
I really hope Travis is back to sing for Blind Melon permanently and come spring/summer they will be back in the Midwest touring.
