I think we're going to take it easy today. There really is tons to do around here but I'm not feeling it.
I found out yesterday for the month of July, our library will take food donations instead of money for over due fines. Cool! I've decided to hang on to my over due book a little longer and just remember to bring a jar of peanut butter with me next trip. I'm evil. I know this was intended to assist our local food pantry, but I can't help take advantage of this opportunity. I'll have a extra few days now to finish up my reading.
Last night I decided it would be easier for me to get through my shift if I treated myself to one of those new sugar free vanilla iced coffees at McDonald's. Like a moron I ordered a large. I thought this would mean a 16 ounce drink. McDonald's large is 32 ounces! I couldn't finish it and now the other half is in my fridge. It didn't taste as good this morning but I don't want to waste it. It will probably stick around in my fridge a few days, until I feel less guilty about pouring it down the drain. It's amazing how much garbage sits in my fridge waiting for me to dump it.
Well, I guess I better get moving. If I don't, I'll depress myself. Hopefully once I get my ball rolling things will slip into place today.

We had strong storms too... the computer almost exploded.
I'm glad there was no damage from the storms. :)
I love the idea of the library collecting food for the pantry! hmm............how can I use this idea to my advantage? *thinking thinking* I will tuck this in the back of my mind for future community service meeting ideas. :)
Glad you didn't get any storm damage. That's neat that your library is taking food donations for fines. Enjoy your day off. Put your feet up + read more of your overdue book. Have a great day!
Love the idea about the library - that reminds me I am out of peanut butter, better add that to my list. Those McDonald drinks are really good! As for needing chocolate - girl check out my chocolate website - all kinds of delicious chocolate there!
I have a 8 month over due book - I should sugest to my library to try food exchange. I will have to try the iced coffees at McDonald's but only a small....ha ha.
Have a great weekend girl!!
In May, our library had an amnesty day where anyone with overdue books could bring books back and pay no fees. They just wanted their books back. :) I never did ask how many were returned.
Glad to hear you are all safe, we were watching for storms but noticed on the radar they were heading south.
Wish our library had help with overdue books, I have one fine I would love to clear up and this would be a great way to do it. I will have to give them a call and see if they have anything like this
I found something interesting out a few years ago about library fines and credit reports.............Those fines show up on reports. I had a friend with a book overdue a LONG time. When she found out it would show up on her credit report, she went right to the bank to pay the fees. LOL
How can they do this is they don't have your SS#? In our area, there was a woman arrested for library fines. She had failed to respond to several notices.

If they don't have your SSN, it might be possible for them to use your DL number and tie it together with the SSN that way....I'm really not sure. I know with some libraries, they use your SSN when you sign up for a card.
Wow, the woman was arrested for over due fines? WOW!
