NIGHTMARE!!!

A nightmare woke me early. It was impossible for me to go back to sleep afterward. I wanted to wake up my boys, but I showed some restraint.

In the dream, my children had become MORONS!!!! They had changed their personalities to try and fit in at.....SCHOOL!! GASP!!!

I'm so glad it was just a dream. My autodidacts are still free to be who they are!!

This isn't a slam on everyone who chooses to attend public instruction. I'm just grateful we have the opportunity to provide an environment for our boys where they feel safe to be themselves, free of judgment. They don't have to worry about being accepted because we love them unconditionally.

I know we've given them a solid foundation of self confidence. Both boys have experienced negative criticism from others, and I was proud of how they handled it. When one son was cyber bullied, he simply "unfriended" the offenders, and told me he wasn't going to let it bother him. My other son received negative remarks regarding his film making and he completely let it roll off his shoulders. He has too much fun creating movies, and he knows the people in his life that matter, that love him, appreciate his creativity.

I believe because we love and respect our boys so much, and because we give them so much freedom, they have become wonderful, generous young men. They are not morons. They are funny, intelligent, creative, insightful and caring individuals. They aren't trying to be someone they're not. They inspire me everyday!

Your kids are great. I always enjoy hearing what they are doing. You are doing a great job with them. :)

the thing is the dream has meaning..
maybe your asking yourself would you really love them just as much if they chose differently to fit in with what you relate to as Morons?
this is a judgement of others who are aspects of yourself, as all are One of the Source of All That Is.

I'm glad I rarely remember my dreams, and haven't had a nightmare since I was a kid. Sorry you woke up to the horror of moronic children! LOL Who knows what prompts our dreams?! I'm sure your boys would be making their way famously in public school, because of the love and respect they get at home. Not to worry! You are raising well-rounded and gifted children.

Dreams or should I say nightmares are horrible, I had one the other night about my mom and she died almost 4 yrs ago, but it was a heart pounding experience nonetheless.
Maybe it was something you ate before going to bed that made you have that nightmare, but I am sure your boys will do great and its nice to have them home where they arent bullied like in the public schools. I have heard on TV about the horrors of kids going thru that in school or on their computers, kids can sure be horrible cant they?

Here's what I think it means. I want my children to follow their own path. I know I would love them regardless of their choices. That's the natural order of being a parent. What my true fears are, is that they are influenced to follow someone else's idea of what their path should be.

That would be a nightmare for me also. I just wish some homeschoolers would trust their children more and let them follow their own paths instead of doing school at home. I know too many people that have their kids scheduled from morning to night and these kids don't know what they enjoy.
