My Nordic blood is not liking this heat and humidity. I can't imagine how our soldiers handle this in Iraq and Afghanistan. Today I am grateful for their sacrifice, and for the central air in my Sleepyhouse!
Hubby Matt's family is from Norway.........He hates it here in Georgia. But I am 1/4 German 3/4 Native American....I am not fond of the heat, but I can deal better than Hubby. ( I cannot take the COLD...I just ache all over and feel like I am a million years old) Hugs Kat
I don't know how people survived down here before air conditioning. I grew up in Ohio without air conditioning - fans in the windows did a great job for us there. The humidity is a killer. Thanks for your observation about our soldiers in the middle east. I, too, am grateful for their sacrifice... and for AC!!
It was said in the news earlier today that Finland is one of the hottest places in Europe today. And we're having it closer to 80's. So, how about having a visit at my place? I'll make coffee... or well, perhaps ice tea would be better, don't you think? :-D
Have a great day Dawn! It's always good to hear from you.
I'm definitely a cool weather gal myself. Grew up in IL where we had fans. Had a great basement too which was wonderful for summer heat. :o) I really need to live in the south during the winter and go WAY north for the summer.:o)
My BIL just got to Kuwait about four days ago. He told my sister it is HOT! I can imagine. They have to wear those heavy clothes.........no comfort at all.
It is hot and sticky up here also, we are suppose to hit 93 by this afternoon and the humidity is really bad. I never grew up with ac but I can't do without it now. We have 3 window airconditioners going trying to keep our house cool and I dream of central air
I haven't Nordic blood OR an air Con .... I am going to die.
Seriously, the soldiers at Fort McCoy here ride about in the humV's in all thier gear and crap, I wear a T-shirt and shorts and I want to rip them off and jump into ice, what the hec ?!
I'm going to be opposite today, and admit to LOVING the heat! My sister and joke that we're cold-blooded reptiles that have to slither out and lay in the sun for a while to warm up. lol
I am close to Ft Benning Georgia.... T-Shirts & Shorts & sweating my buns off.....These Military guys got Camo on and full gear. I'd pass out from the heat. They'd find what's left of me that the Buzzards didn't get along the road. I honestly have no idea how those guys do it.
I noticed some Guardsmen riding in the HumVs in full gear and felt the same way! i don't know HOW they wear those clothes in teh heat like they do! Whew! Too hot for me.
