The photo doesn't really show the paint color too well, but its officially known as "Nevada Tan" by Ace Hardware. If you ask me, it really should be called Chocolate Milkshake. That light spot in the photo near the vacuum cleaner is a flash reflection or spot on the lens. Ignore the dirty carpet. There's no money in the budget to replace it now.
I still have a lot of work to do before they arrive this afternoon. I have to clear a path to our bedroom! We've been focusing on getting our bedroom ready, the rest of the house has been neglected.
I also still have to find curtains. DH wants me to order a dark brown, but I want something different. Again with the color dilemma. I saw a thermal twill curtain in the color "Lake Mist" at JCPenney that is washable and on sale, but DH didn't like it. Our bedding varies depending on which blankets we use for different seasons, so I'm looking for something neutral.
We've been having crazy thunderstorms roll through. Today could bring more of the same. Last night at work we had multiple tornado warnings but thankfully they were around us, but not close enough to harm us. Of course all of the parents kept hearing the sirens and running to the front desk to check with me. Our area blows the tornado siren if anywhere in the county there could be a tornado. It could be clear outside, but 20 miles away on the other side of the country a storm is brewing and the tornado siren goes off.
On my drive home I ran into several flooded roadways. At other points, I had to drive around blown down tree limbs. I was just so grateful to be able to make it home.
Well I better get back to fluffing my nest. I'll post after photos once its all complete.

It looks very nice, even if we don't see the color very well. Maybe you should get a beige or light tan for curtains. Contrast and neutrality? I love your headboard. We could use a bookcase headboard for more storage. Nice!! Hope the storms stop soon!!
A new bed feels so awesome. We got ours a few months ago. Let us know how you like it.
Tornados are so scary. How do you know when to panic if they blow the siren for the whole county? Is there a radio station you stay tuned to?
I pull up the radar on the computer and if a TV is nearby, I turn the Weather Channel on.
Excited about the new bed! The room color is great. You mentioned curtains, ABC Distributing has the curtains with the extra panel on the back of them to keep light out. I believe they are $14.95 a set, but you'll need to check out their website to be sure! http://www.abcdistributing.com. I know they have a dark brown, which is what I was interested in, but I think they have two other colors. Good luck with your curtain choice!:o)
We hear tornado sirens that go off for county warnings. I always put on weather.com or the local tv stations to get more information too. :o)
Paint color looks nice. I had an aunt that use to change the curtains according to the season, she liked to change the color so her bedroom wouldn't get boring. If you don' t have a large window this could be an option
The room looks great. I always thought that blues and browns blended well together. This should be a peaceful retreat away from the rest of the world for both of you. Think calm and cozy when picking the colors.
Me too, but DH doesn't want blue or green. We'll probably end up with dark brown curtains and I'll hope the artwork will bring in more color.
Even though I can't really see the color in the photo I'm sure it looks lovely. Going with the dark brown curtains will look really nice. Enjoy the new look!
