Our weekend...

(I'm just now realizing my camera lens has gunk on it. Do I try to clean it myself or have it done at a camera shop? I don't want to scratch the lens.)

Friday night DH and I went out to eat for our anniversary. Although I did wear a different purplish shirt, no comments about wearing a red hats were heard. Yeah! We had an enjoyable supper and then cruised around Madison, watching the thunderstorm roll in.

Saturday we headed out to garage sales. DS10 found a new lefty baseball glove for only .25 cents! My favorite find was a .50 cent, silver plated "tea" spoon. It looks like a regular spoon except the tip is designed to hold loose leaf tea. Its tarnished, but I managed to polish off enough to see its an Oneida spoon and its marked, " WM. A. Rogers A1Plus". I'll have to snap a photo once I get it all polished up.  Here's one I found online.

After lunch, we toured Olbrich Gardens, shopped Trader Joes and took Grandma to the Flower Factory to pick out a hanging flower basket for Mother's Day.

Sunday we hiked a few of the 1,000 miles on the Ice Age Trail. We're thinking we may have to make it a goal to map the entire trail out and try to hike all of it in our lifetime. Sunday's stretch was through Janesville. We all hopped onto this rock for a goofy photo. I was sure we'd get wet but thankfully, no one fell in!

We didn't get any gardening done, but that leaves us something to do for today.

You can clean the lens yourself...If you have a soft, clean microfiber or knit cloth, that would be best. I usually just use it dry, but if it's more stubborn oily gunk, use eyeglass cleaner or lens cleaner made for cameras.

Congrats on your anniversary!

Awesome on the garage sale finds. And neat idea on hiking all of the trail. In Ohio, there's the Buckeye trail that circles the state that I though would be neat to hike in legs as well.

If a camera breaks, especially such a sensitive part as the lense, it's good to let some professional people fix it, or the risk you should get a new camera gets very big. It's easy to scratch it indeed.

It's so nice to find some good stuff in sales and the tea spoon you described sounds really nice!

There are times when you have some things planned and get just part of them done. Gardening must be a lot of fun though. Every now and then I find it a pity I don't live in a house but an apartment house.

Great family photo!

I have a tea spoon like that, but mine is plain, not silver nor vintage. (darn! lol) I love those, and tea balls (infusers).

Sounds like a wonderful anniversary. : )

I had a wonderful mother's day with the kids. Although, I always have a good time when I go to visit. I did manage to find a treasure or two at the garage sales as well. I bought batteries for the watch I found for Jake and found out that it lights up in the dark if you press a botton on the side of it. The hiking trail was alot of fun. Thank you all so much for the wonderful time. I needed a change of scenery. I sure missed my mom this past weekend. I think of her often, especially when I am happy knowing that is what she wanted for me. Love you all so very much!
