Last night we were in the next town over, trying to find Haddock fish from Iceland, not China. You have to be careful because the Icelandic brand sells Haddock caught in China. Its less expensive but you get what you pay for. (Trust me, don't buy fish from China.) We found Haddock caught in Viking waters and as we made our way to the check out, we saw Salerno cookies! DH was tempted to buy more than one box for fear we won't be able to find them again.
We were suppose to at a cousin's birthday party today but the rain is falling and freezing on the ground. Its suppose to change over to sleet and then snow. Our driveway is an ice rink and they are advising people to stay put. Our power keeps flicking on and off. (Ohh, I hope I don't lose this blog post!)
The Posse rats made it over. They wore their skateboard helmets after one of them fell on the ice and hit his head. His mother called and said, "He's still going to try to make it to your house. If he gets a headache, call us and we'll come and get him." Are you kidding me?!!! I wouldn't even allow DH out to pick up a Sunday paper.
I hit the kitchen and so far I've made potato onion soup, croutons, oatmeal bread and grilled cheese sandwiches. I guess I'm going a little stir crazy. I want to kick out the Posse Rats and play some Wii myself.

Enjoy your Sunday. Stay warm + safe.
You make me laugh :-) I too have a favorite childhood cookie, the Pinwheel, unfortunately they are too easy to find :-) What's wrong with fish from China?
I'll have a bowl of potato onion soup please. Throw in a cookie and l'll be really happy.
Hope you got to play Wii.
yes... what is wrong with the buddha fish?
:)
Hugs! I seem to remember a similar cookie from my youth, but don't recall who made it. Why on earth would a mother send her child who had fallen and hit his head out to a friend's house?!?!? And, then to expect you to take responsibility to monitor him for a headache? Sheesh. I hope you got to play Wii too!
Why I won't eat fish from China- (copied from the FDA website)
"During targeted sampling, from October 2006 through May 2007, FDA repeatedly found that farm-raised seafood from China was contaminated with antimicrobial agents that are not approved for use in the United States. More specifically, the antimicrobials nitrofuran, malachite green, gentian violet, and flouroquinolones, were detected. Nitrofurans, malachite green, and gentian violet have been shown to cause cancer with long-term exposure in lab animals. The use of fluoroquinolones in food animals may increase antibiotic resistance, making it harder for this class of drugs to fight certain infections in people."
