Why is my cat constantly hacking but nothing is coming up? She is refusing to eat the hair ball goo. Maybe I'll just smear it on her fur. She's mad at me already.
We had one cat who thought the petroleum stuff was caviar - but the others have to have it spread on the tops of the paws, where they HAVE to lick it off. Give it a try. If she is an older cat, you might also want to have her checked for thyroid problems. We have one of those, too... throwing up, gagging... thyroid meds have fixed it. Good luck!

I was going to suggest putting the goo on the paws as well. :) I hope that works. :)
Top of one of the front paws is what i have always been told (just like those above have said). :-)
