Thank you dad, for having that Helen Reddy album which I listened to constantly when I was 11. Every time I pick up a power tool or start up an engine, I can't help but sing that song in my head. We've been hit with more snow. This time I'm guessing around 4-6 inches. Thankfully, I found someone to cover for me at work so I didn't have to drive in. I live about 30 miles from work and those country roads can really be a nightmare when the snow drifts and blows.
I was able to start the snow thrower, (best present I ever bought DH!) and I cleaned off the driveway, sidewalks and my neighbor's. I think she felt badly I was snow blowing her driveway, but I assured her it wasn't difficult. Our snow thrower propels itself. You just have to steer. And why should the guys have all the fun?!
I tried to make soft gingerbread reindeer. The first two cookie sheets came out ok, but when I baked that last batch, they mutated! (I'll take a picture.) I don't know if I didn't mix the dough well enough or what. I'm going to have to try again. I did make some Domo Gingerbread men, but I still need to make white icing for Domo's teeth.
DH's big 4-0 is this Friday and I don't yet have that wow present. He'd tell me not to fuss, but I feel bad. How can I be with someone over 22 years and not know what to get him?!
I took the time to watch the sunset today. Its so beautiful this time of year. The past few nights the sky has been partly cloudy and the sun's rays bounce off in orange and purple hues. It doesn't last long enough. Usually I'm driving to work around this time so I can't really stop and watch it.
Although the first words out of Jared's mouth this morning were, "Medicine! Medicine!" he does seem to be doing better today. He hasn't asked for more Motrin this afternoon so I think he's turned the corner. There is a faint trace of ouchie in the back of my throat, but I keep telling myself I'm winning the battle. Emergen-C I'd be lost without you!
Well, I think I'm warmed back up from playing in the snow. I should get supper going. Take care and be safe!

Awwww those cookies are so cute! Yeah on getting to use the snow thrower. Sunsets this time of year are beautiful. Glad everyone is feeling better. Have a great night!
Yummy looking cookies you made. It snowed up here also and dh tried to show me how to use his plow truck just in case I would ever need to drive it. I know how to drive the truck but its the plow that worries me, it bounces while you drive and I don't know about the actual plowing part. But maybe I will someday give it a try.
We saw an awesome sunset too, all orange, purples and pinks up here
Hugs across the miles
Cindy
cute :)
The cookies are very cute! I saw a neat cookie idea using nutterbutters, pretzels and mini choc chips or something. We're going to fix those up :)
I love the beautiful skies. I used to always point them out to Alex and now she is noticing them on her own. :)
l loved that song altho l was older than you were when it became popular. cute cookies,
Cute cookies!
We've had no real snow yet this season. A little would be nice I think.
I wanted to have an "over the hill" party for my husband when he turned 40, but he threatened me with my life, so I didn't. I never know what to get thim either and I, too, have known him over 20 years!
We got to see Helen Reddy in concert years ago at our summer outdoor theater! It was very fun to see her sing that song.
Woo Hoo! Cookies, playing in the snow, little fellow is feeling better...sounds like a good day! : )
Glad your feeling better. Nothing says fun like baking and snow. We don't get very much snow if any. Just sleet. lol.
